Entry-level positions for coding bootcamp grads [Oct 2022]

Unless you’re fortunate enough to be enrolled in a bootcamp that has built-in internship programs (shout out to Epicodus for being one of these), your biggest struggle upon graduation will be landing your first role. Instead of applying to every company on the planet, let’s focus on companies who specifically mention they have or are willing to hire bootcamp grads. Once this list runs out, you can always resume the usual process. Now let’s get some coffee and get to applying 💻.

Microsoft Leap Apprenticeship

  • Location: Multiple
  • Type: Full-time — 16-weeks

Key requirements of relevant experience

  • Graduated from a coding academy or boot camp and have previous work experience in any field
  • Self-taught programmer demonstrating recent development projects or professional experience
  • Degree from a community college in computer science or related field
  • Degree from a college/university in computer science or related field with a previous career in tech, plus a 2+ year career break

Airbnb — Connect Software Engineering Apprenticeship

  • Industry: Technology
  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area — No relocation/Remote
  • Type: Full-time — 6 months

Key requirements of relevant experience

  • You do not have a 4-year Computer Science degree
  • You learned to code through online courses, community college classes, or a coding bootcamp
  • You have no prior (or less than one year of) professional software engineering experience
  • Able to write basic functions and implement control flow in a programming language of your choice (e.g., if statements, for/while loops)
  • Able to understand the basics of at least one framework (e.g., React, Rails, Express)

Key requirements of relevant experience

  • An understanding of at least one programming language.
